Scrap compression and fluid recovery system was developed to meet the real, day to day needs of manufacturers. The founder of Metallurgical Energy Systems, Inc. has 30+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry. Over the years, he heard plant managers, shop floor employees and CFOs complain about the time intensive process to separate scrap metals and compress them for pick-up. CFOs in particular felt there was a better way to recover the costs of scrap and cutting oil lost in the manufacturing process.

Machines are built to meet specific customer needs, with an anti-jamming feature in the auger box and optimized coolant recovery. The puck product is delivered with less than 1% moisture content and ready for the highest return when the scrap hauler comes for a pick-up.

Patented 4 motor design provides the power and efficiency you need in a metal scrap briquetting system. The shredder capacity is further improved by the addition of an auger jamming control which locks in on the piece for removal rather than picking up speed as other products do. Steel output capacity can range from 300 pounds to 5 tons depending upon model configuration. Aluminum output capacity averages 100 pounds per hour.

Puck Moisture Content

All of our customers have found the pucks produced to have less than 1% moisture content. The moisture has been returned to you as valuable cutting oil. The uniformity of the product allows for more accurate predictions of final scrap weight. In an average installation, 30-40 gallons of oil per ton of scrap is recovered and ready for reuse as a coolant.

Plant Floor Footprint

Our briquetting system takes a limited amount of valuable shop space in either a horizontal or vertical installation. On average, Enviro Slug will use less than 50 square feet of floor space.
